Project description

For the 98 Data Records rebranding project, I created a fresh, modern identity for a vinyl record store aiming to attract both classic vinyl lovers and younger audiences. The logo features a stylized “98” with concentric lines that mimic vinyl grooves, evoking nostalgia and the authentic feel of analog sound. Bold typography and a vibrant gradient add a contemporary touch, blending reliability with energy. This rebranding positions 98 Data Records as a distinctive brand, celebrating quality music and the unique warmth of vinyl.

The 98 Data Records logo is highly versatile, adapting seamlessly across various merchandise. Its circular shape and groove-inspired pattern naturally fit vinyl-related products, reinforcing the brand’s connection to analog music. The bold typography ensures legibility on different materials, from embroidered caps to printed apparel, while its adaptability in both monochrome and gradient versions allows for diverse applications. This flexibility strengthens brand identity, making it instantly recognizable across all touchpoints.

Conclusion

The rebranding of 98 Data Records successfully bridges the gap between nostalgia and modernity, giving the brand a fresh yet authentic identity. The logo’s versatility allows seamless integration across various touchpoints, from store signage to merchandise, maintaining a strong and cohesive visual presence. Whether on apparel, vinyl accessories, or promotional materials, its bold design ensures recognition and connection with music lovers. By embracing the aesthetics of analog sound while appealing to a new generation, 98 Data Records positions itself as a dynamic and enduring brand in the vinyl culture.
